A Little Break
In the midst of heavy campaiging, it's good to see that both Obama and McCain can keep their sense of humor.

I was at the Obama rally that I mentioned happened here in ABQ over the weekend.
What impressed me was the joy of the crowd. Even when Obama mentioned McCain and folks started to boo, Obama said, "You don't have to boo. Just go vote!" He kept it positive and the 45,000 of us honked and waved and paraded down Central Avenue afterwards. (It reminded me of when I was in Boston and the Patriots won.)
It is nice to have a campaign that is not running on fear.

Can You Give 6 Hours for the Next 4 Years of Leadership?
Most Americans agree that the media is biased.
Those on the left think it's bias is to the right; those on the right think that it is biased to the left. If you are one these people, don't let the media decide for you who you will vote for.
If you care about your future, can you do some of your own homework? Surely you can spend 6 hours listening to the candidates themselves, to be an informed voter.
You vote for president only once every four years. You owe it to yourself to make a firsthand, informed decision.
Go to My Debates, if you haven't yet taken the time to listen to the actual candidates.

McCain's Plumber Admits He Wouldn't be Taxed
Did you hear all about McCain quoting some plumber in Ohio as saying that Obama's tax plan would hurt him? Well, turns out that isn't true.
Even Joe the Plumber says the plan wouldn't hurt him. But he thinks it would hurt others. Who? I have no idea if it wouldn't hurt the poster boy that McCain himself singled out as being an example of who would be negatively affected by Obama's tax plan.
In his own words, "Wurzelbacher said Obama's tax plan wouldn't affect him right now, because he doesn't make $250,000. 'But I hope someday I'll make that,' he said. 'If you believed (Obama), I'd be receiving his tax cuts,' Wurzelbacher said. 'But I don't look at it that way. He'd still be hurting others.'

Hitting Close to Home
How I'm noticing the market crash here at home:
1. Guy in front of me at the bank last week withdrew $600,000. Poof! Just like that, my bank had over 1/2 a million less liquidity.
2. The director of one of our shelter's funders came by last week and said that we would not be receiving our usual year-end gift because their investments had so dramatically decreased.
3. Our annual fundraiser is at about half of where it was last year at this time.
