Nice Day!

Awoke to a birthday greeting text. Got quite a few calls from long-time friends, a couple of Facebook posts from surprising quarters of the earth.

Spent the morning with a 2-hour massage in my house. Massage was from a friend at a birthday gift price of only $40!! Then we went swimming.

Afterwards, I went to spend my birthday money at Mama's Minerals, a fav hangout of mine. You'd be surprised how long I can spend time there. And this time I had money to spend! Yay!

Spent rest of afternoon buying things for a party that I'm throwing this Saturday in celebration of my birthday. Evening was spent beginning to polish rocks with my newly purchased tumbler and preparing gifts to give to people at the party.

Nice birthday!

Hi Dennis -- It is funny I was wondering what you are up to these days and discovered your very excellent blog just as your birthday is expiring. Very cool. As my 2-yr old says almost every night, "That was a Nice Day!"

(I am conflicted because usually I would sign "Eric", here, but it seems that name has been taken...)

Happy birthday, Dennis! Mine is Tuesday (the 24th) and I am going to be spending it in a sort of mirror of yours - having tea with friends at Seven Cups and then going to the Rock Shop, and then having a group night with Tryshe Dhevney (a sound healer who uses crystal singing bowls in her practice). I'll certainly be thinking of me. Um, I mean, thinking of you. Oh, who am I kidding. It's my birthday and I'll be totally focused on me, me, me!!!!

;)

Hope your birthday goodness continues throughout the year. The world is a better place because you were born. :)

"Eric" thestories...hmmm...I think I know who this is, but not sure and curious about the stories you might have to tell. The curiosity factor is good. Your 2-year old is right.

This blog ain't big enough for the two of us...

:)

I'd sign in as something else, but every time it asks for my blogger ID it automatically assigns "eric" and doesn't give me a chance to change it. Feel free to use an initial or something if you'd like. Or if you know how to change it, let me know and I'll choose a different user name.

In any event, it's always nice to meet another Eric. :)

Happy Early Birthday Eric! Wish that I was joining you at all of your events...we have quite a few similar interests! Peace.

Not to respond to old comments or anything...

No, Eric. I wouldn't want anyone to guess my real first name, so you can have it. Although, now I have a funny suspicion the system is going to post this as "Eric"...

Dennis -- today being the solstice reminds me of a story -- have you ever been to International Peace Prayer Day at Ram Das Puri in the Jemez mountains? The first time I visited New Mexico I arrived a couple days early (by accident) for my first Sacred Storytelling class in Jemez Springs, and while killing time I found myself heading up the mountain with the Sikhs...and lots of folks camping out for the solstice...a surprising and great adventure for me.
In the evening I somehow ended up at a new casino nearby watching a boxing match in the bar, and was joined by a table full of older Native American men. I told them I had come from Hawaii and had just stumbled into this place. They told me they were "from right here in San Juan...and this is our casino." It turned into a wonderfully strange week...full of "Nice Day"s.

There is an Eric from Hawaii whom I first thought of when I read your earlier post...not certain that is you, but imagine so. If not, then two good encounters with old friends for the thoughts of one.

Haven't been to the Peace Day at the Puri, but have been in touch with (2 degrees of separation) Krishna Das. I'm in a group that is doing some of his music.

Then again, the second friend had a couple of first names by which he was known.
